Fluke T5-600 combines the checks used most often during electrical service into a compact handheld tester. Select volts, ohms, or current, connect to the circuit using the appropriate method, and the instrument handles the required measurement function without the setup complexity of a full-featured digital multimeter.

Choose the Check, Then Use the Correct Connection

Voltage

With the leads connected, the T5-600 automatically identifies AC or DC voltage and measures up to 600 V. This supports common checks at distribution equipment, control panels, outlets, motors, and building service circuits when the installation is within the tester's rating and the correct safe working procedure is followed.

Current

The OpenJaw design measures up to 100 A AC around one conductor without disconnecting the circuit or making metallic contact with the current-carrying conductor. The 12.9 mm opening accepts conductors up to the stated physical limit. Multi-conductor cords must not be measured as one bundle because opposing currents can cancel.

Resistance and continuity

Resistance measurement extends to 1000 ohms, with an audible continuity indication for fast identification of connected conductors, closed contacts, and low-resistance paths. Power must be removed and the circuit verified de-energized before resistance or continuity testing.

The tester weighs approximately 300 g and measures about 203 mm long. Detachable SlimReach probe tips help when working around closely spaced terminals, while probe storage keeps the leads organized. The enclosure is designed to withstand a three-meter drop, and automatic power-off helps preserve the two AA batteries.

The operating temperature range is -10 to 50°C, and typical alkaline battery life is approximately 400 hours. Environmental conditions, lead condition, battery state, and measurement category must all be checked before starting work.
