PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

FLK 52-II Dual Channel Thermometer for Temperature Difference and Contact Measurement

The FLK 52-II is built for temperature jobs where one reading is not enough. Two thermocouple inputs allow a technician to observe T1 and T2 at the same time, calculate the T1-T2 difference, and capture minimum, maximum, and average values on a large backlit display.

This makes the instrument useful for comparing supply and return temperatures, inlet and outlet conditions, two points on a process line, or the temperature rise across electrical and mechanical equipment. The comparison is shown directly on the thermometer, reducing the need to record two separate measurements and calculate the difference later.

Temperature Questions the 52-II Can Help Answer

Field QuestionUseful Display Mode
What is the temperature at each test point?T1 and T2
How much temperature change occurs across the equipment?T1-T2
What were the highest and lowest readings during the observation?MIN and MAX
What was the average temperature over the recorded period?AVG
When did a major temperature event occur?Relative time with MIN, MAX, and AVG

Select the Probe for the Job

The thermometer accepts industrial standard J, K, T, and E thermocouples. Probe construction determines the practical temperature range, response time, accuracy, and suitability for surfaces, air, liquids, penetration, or high-temperature work. Always match the probe type and insulation to the application rather than selecting a probe only by connector shape.

The electronic offset function can compensate for known thermocouple error and improve the overall measurement system when applied correctly. Readings can be displayed in degrees Celsius, degrees Fahrenheit, or kelvin.

Measurement and Hardware Profile

  • Two simultaneous contact-temperature inputs

  • Supported thermocouples: J, K, T, and E

  • Laboratory accuracy: 0.05% plus 0.3°C, subject to the applicable specification conditions

  • Temperature capability up to 900°C (1600°F) with a suitable supported probe and measurement conditions

  • Operating temperature: -10 to 50°C

  • Typical battery life: approximately 1000 hours using three AA batteries

  • Dimensions: approximately 173 × 86 × 38 mm

  • Weight: approximately 400 g

Applications Across Maintenance and Quality Work

Common uses include HVAC supply-and-return checks, motor and bearing temperature comparison, electrical connection surveys, process inlet-and-outlet measurement, laboratory work, quality assurance, food-safety temperature checks, and calibration support. Contact quality, probe placement, stabilization time, and surface condition can influence the result.

Ordering Details to Confirm

Specify FLK 52-II as the requested model and list the thermocouple types, probe construction, temperature range, cable length, calibration certificate requirement, quantity, and destination. Also confirm whether the required package includes the impact-absorbing holster and two 80PK-1 beaded thermocouples or a different probe set.
