Verify hazardous-location, temperature and product-code evidence for Hirschmann BRS40-00089999-TTCX99HHSESXX.X.XX

Hirschmann BRS40-00089999-TTCX99HHSESXX.X.XX, part number 942170042, is the Hirschmann BRS40-8TX-EEC-HL managed industrial Ethernet switch described in the manufacturer configuration record. This EEC-HL configuration brings together the extended-temperature record and an ISA12.12.01 hazardous-location listing. Procurement and acceptance should keep the exact code, part number and installation evidence together.

Product identity before feature comparison

Hirschmann BRS40-00089999-TTCX99HHSESXX.X.XX is the complete configuration reference associated with catalog Type BRS40-8TX-EEC-HL and part number 942170042. Keep those three identifiers together in the inquiry, quotation, inspection record and configuration archive. A shortened BRS40 family description can help a buyer find the product family, but it cannot establish the same hardware and software selection as the complete ordering code.

• Match every character against the offered label.
• Record the part number beside the installed location.
• Keep the approved software and configuration evidence with the same equipment record.

Wide temperature is one part of cabinet suitability

The manufacturer record lists -40-+70 C operation for Hirschmann BRS40-00089999-TTCX99HHSESXX.X.XX, together with PC-ABS housing, DIN rail mounting and IP30 protection. These values answer different engineering questions. The temperature range applies at the installed switch, while the IP rating still requires a surrounding enclosure suited to the site's dust, moisture and access conditions.

Review cold start, normal panel temperature and heat from neighboring components. Do not use an EEC suffix as a substitute for an enclosure assessment. The final cabinet record for part number 942170042 should identify the expected environment, the protection supplied by the panel and the clearance needed for connected cables.

Final checks before the network enters service

• Confirm Hirschmann BRS40-00089999-TTCX99HHSESXX.X.XX and part number 942170042 on the offered and delivered records.
• Verify 8 Ports in total: 8x 10/100/1000BASE TX / RJ45.
• Check 2 x 12 VDC ... 24 VDC supply and the listed 8 W consumption.
• Review -40-+70 C operation, PC-ABS housing and IP30 protection against the cabinet.
• Test required management, security, timing and redundancy functions with the actual network.

Record exceptions before the switch enters service. Product-family similarity is not an acceptable substitute for the configuration-specific evidence associated with Hirschmann BRS40-00089999-TTCX99HHSESXX.X.XX.

Port count becomes useful only after allocation

The official entry for Hirschmann BRS40-00089999-TTCX99HHSESXX.X.XX records 8 Ports in total: 8x 10/100/1000BASE TX / RJ45. Build the port schedule from actual endpoints rather than treating every connector as interchangeable capacity. Assign a device name, destination, expected rate, VLAN and service owner to each planned link. For a replacement, also record the present negotiated speed and duplex so commissioning can compare the new installation with a known baseline.

Because BRS40-8TX-EEC-HL is an all-Gigabit BRS40 configuration, the local copper links support 10/100/1000BASE-TX. That capability does not prove that existing cables or peer devices will negotiate at 1 Gbit/s. Verify the installed channel and far-end capability, then preserve the accepted result under the full Hirschmann BRS40-00089999-TTCX99HHSESXX.X.XX record.

Preserve optical, copper and software evidence together

Keep one service record for Hirschmann BRS40-00089999-TTCX99HHSESXX.X.XX that joins the hardware label, port destinations, configuration backup and normal operating evidence. For mixed-media versions, add every fitted SFP and far-end interface. For all-copper versions, retain negotiated rate and cable identification. This creates a practical path from an alarm to the physical and configured link.

Document authorized changes with a date and reason. If a device is replaced, preserve both the removed and installed references and record any settings that changed. The full product code and part number 942170042 should remain visible so later troubleshooting does not confuse BRS40-8TX-EEC-HL with a nearby BOBCAT configuration.

Prepare a configuration-specific purchasing line

Send Hirschmann BRS40-00089999-TTCX99HHSESXX.X.XX, catalog Type BRS40-8TX-EEC-HL, part number 942170042, quantity and delivery destination in the inquiry. State the required operating environment, management functions, security policy, timing role and redundancy design where they affect acceptance. List accessories separately so the supplier can identify the complete scope.

Ask the supplier to show the exact offered code and document revision for Hirschmann BRS40-00089999-TTCX99HHSESXX.X.XX. For replacement work, attach the installed label and summarize any function that must be retained. A configuration-specific request tied to part number 942170042 is easier to compare than a generic search for a managed industrial Ethernet switch.
