Compare installed cabinet evidence with the full Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX configuration before replacement

Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX, part number 942170092, is the Hirschmann BRS40-24TX-EEC managed industrial Ethernet switch described in the manufacturer configuration record. The EEC all-copper version is intended for a different environmental review from the standard model. Because the source record does not state every mechanical value, the buyer should preserve confirmed facts and request the missing configuration-specific drawing before approval.

Compare label, ports, environment and configuration together

A replacement request for Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX should include a readable installed label, current port map, supply arrangement, enclosure conditions and saved configuration. Compare these records with catalog Type BRS40-24TX-EEC and part number 942170092. Similar BRS40 products may share a port count while differing in temperature range, housing, optical interfaces or advanced feature selection.

If an alternative is proposed, list every difference that affects physical fit, wiring, media, required software functions or commissioning. Keep the accepted comparison with the maintenance record. That turns a future repeat order into a traceable decision instead of another family-level search for Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX.

Wide temperature is one part of cabinet suitability

The manufacturer record lists -40-+70 C operation for Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX, together with Metal housing, DIN rail mounting and IP30 protection. These values answer different engineering questions. The temperature range applies at the installed switch, while the IP rating still requires a surrounding enclosure suited to the site's dust, moisture and access conditions.

Review cold start, normal panel temperature and heat from neighboring components. Do not use an EEC suffix as a substitute for an enclosure assessment. The final cabinet record for part number 942170092 should identify the expected environment, the protection supplied by the panel and the clearance needed for connected cables.

Plan rail space, connectors and cable clearance together

The configuration record for Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX gives dimensions of Confirm from the configuration-specific manufacturer record and a weight of Confirm from the configuration-specific manufacturer record. Use those values in the rail layout instead of borrowing a drawing from a nearby BRS40 version. The device dimensions do not include connector access or cable bend space, so leave working clearance around the power terminal and all planned network connections.

The housing is listed as Metal and the protection rating as IP30. Check rail support, neighboring heat sources and the enclosure boundary as one installation review. For replacement work, compare the present width and connector arrangement before authorizing Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX; the same port count does not guarantee the same physical fit.

Verify both DC inputs and the protected supply arrangement

Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX is listed for 2 x 12 VDC ... 24 VDC operation, 19 W consumption and 65 BTU (IT)/h heat output. Include these values in the protected DC supply and panel thermal calculations. If both supply inputs are used, document their source arrangement, protection and expected behavior rather than describing the switch as simply redundant-powered.

• Verify voltage at the installed terminal.
• Label both supply paths where the design uses them.
• Include switch heat in the enclosure review.
• Retain the accepted wiring and protection details with the configuration archive.

Final checks before the network enters service

• Confirm Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX and part number 942170092 on the offered and delivered records.
• Verify 24 Ports in total: 24x 10/100/1000BASE TX / RJ45.
• Check 2 x 12 VDC ... 24 VDC supply and the listed 19 W consumption.
• Review -40-+70 C operation, Metal housing and IP30 protection against the cabinet.
• Test required management, security, timing and redundancy functions with the actual network.

Record exceptions before the switch enters service. Product-family similarity is not an acceptable substitute for the configuration-specific evidence associated with Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX.

Preserve optical, copper and software evidence together

Keep one service record for Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX that joins the hardware label, port destinations, configuration backup and normal operating evidence. For mixed-media versions, add every fitted SFP and far-end interface. For all-copper versions, retain negotiated rate and cable identification. This creates a practical path from an alarm to the physical and configured link.

Document authorized changes with a date and reason. If a device is replaced, preserve both the removed and installed references and record any settings that changed. The full product code and part number 942170092 should remain visible so later troubleshooting does not confuse BRS40-24TX-EEC with a nearby BOBCAT configuration.

Prepare a configuration-specific purchasing line

Send Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX, catalog Type BRS40-24TX-EEC, part number 942170092, quantity and delivery destination in the inquiry. State the required operating environment, management functions, security policy, timing role and redundancy design where they affect acceptance. List accessories separately so the supplier can identify the complete scope.

Ask the supplier to show the exact offered code and document revision for Hirschmann BRS40-00249999-TTDY99HHSESXX.X.XX. For replacement work, attach the installed label and summarize any function that must be retained. A configuration-specific request tied to part number 942170092 is easier to compare than a generic search for a managed industrial Ethernet switch.
