Understanding the Schneider LC1D12P7 TeSys Contactor in Motor Load Circuits and 230 V AC Control Systems
The Schneider LC1D12P7 brings two parts of a motor starter together: the contacts that switch the load and the coil that responds to the control circuit. This TeSys contactor is a useful reference when specifying a new panel or matching an existing assembly. Its complete model code matters because a similar-looking contactor can require a different control supply.

The load side and the control side
On the load side, LC1D12P7 has three normally open main poles. Schneider lists a 12 A AC-3 operating current at voltages up to 440 V. Compare the applicable utilisation category with the actual duty: frequent starting, reversing and other demanding switching patterns need their own selection assessment.
On the control side, the P7 version uses a 230 V AC, 50/60 Hz coil. Verify that the panel control supply matches this requirement. A correct motor-current rating alone does not establish that the coil is suitable for the circuit.

Applying the reference to an existing starter
